What's it really like to work at the best company? Let's just get this out of the way - work is not supposed
to be fun. There is a reason that what we do each day shares its name with the
biblical personification of hopeless pain and suffering, Job himself. Yet...

Before
the new year gets off to a running start, all of us at RMPI would like to wish
our readers a happy and successful new year. RMPI had a lot to be thankful for
in 2005 as we experienced almost 100% growth in revenue! Our goal for 2006 is
to meet, or exceed, this growth record.
Our
Contractor_Funding program has been well-received by the construction
industry; and, our
Resource Monitoring_Services® program has helped RMPI and its clients
achieve stellar results.
Our
traditional
Accounts_Receivable Financing program also showed substantial growth in
2005. We were successful in our bid for a loan portfolio which was sold by a
community bank (they had been purchased by a much larger regional
bank) that no longer wanted to provide
A/R financing Continuing our efforts in this arena, we have already
recognized and targeted a few portfolios which are currently for sale.
We recognize
that we are in a very competitive marketplace, and it is because of this that
we constantly test our practices and procedures. We have learned, as many of
our peers have, that by listening to our potential clients’ needs and concerns,
we can assist them in reaching their goals, and at the same time ensure our
profitability and growth.
I wish all of you a successful,
happy, and healthy new year!
What's most striking about Farmer
& Irwin is how a company that turns 50 in October has been so adaptable to
change. The contractor even viewed Hurricane Wilma last October as a good
reason to remodel its office space and make other improvements. That readiness
to embrace change has served Farmer & Irwin well, and it sets an example
for other contractors to follow.
When Contractor Magazine select's
their Mechanical Contractor of the Year, they are not necessarily looking for
the biggest company in the industry, but they are looking for one that makes a
great role model. Contractor Magazine did mention Farmer & Irwin in their
2005 Book of Giants, although not because it is one of the 100 largest
mechanical contractors in the country. The company was the second most
profitable one in our survey, with a net profit of 6.4% on sales of $23.5
million... (More)
